Link of the day for Saturday, July 28Fichey provides the only service I know so far that allows you to preview web sites featured on popular social bookmarking sites, such as Digg, del.icio.us, Downfly, Reddit, and StumbleUpon.
Upon entering the site, an unobtrusive, semi-transparent navigation box appears, where you can select the social site links to view, or click on the arrows to move to the next or previous site in the list.
Each site is previewed full screen, and you can navigate to the real thing anytime by double-clicking on the preview, or by clicking on the View More button at the bottom of the preview. Fichey appears to work by taking a snapshot of any links contained in one of the social sites listed, and as such, does not allow user input for aiding in the selection of links. Also, although you can easily navigate between preview and real mode, the site is lacking a way of bookmarking the original site by URL, at least in the version of Firefox I am using.
Still, this site is definitely worth a look.
